The Faculty of Indigenous Psychology
We are a collection of individuals, departments, and programs within El-Roi London University that focus on studying and applying indigenous psychological principles and perspectives. This includes researchers, educators, and practitioners who are actively involved in the field of indigenous psychology. The faculty would prioritise understanding human behaviors and mental health within indigenous communities’ specific cultural, social, and environmental contexts. A key aspect would be to critically examine and challenge the dominance of Western psychology in the field, promoting a more inclusive and diverse understanding of human behaviour.
Research and Education.
The faculty would engage in research to understand indigenous communities’ unique challenges and strengths and develop educational programs to train professionals in the field. There would be a strong emphasis on working in partnership with indigenous communities, ensuring that research and practice are culturally relevant and respectful.
