The Learning Plan and the Portfolio of Pieces of Work

  1. Critical Review of Literature (10,000 words)
  2. Small Scale Research Project (10,000 words)
  3. Applied Research Project (20,000 words)
  4. Report of Professional Practice (10,000 words)
  5. Reflective Account (intro and final chapter) (10,000 words).

 

The PhD Portfolio

These five elements make up the final PhD dissertation. There is some flexibility with the word count for each portfolio component. This is agreed upon in the learning plan with the lead supervisor. The overall word count for the portfolio should be in the region of 50 to 70,000 words.

Entry requirements

A 2:1 honour degree, preferably a merit master’s degree or an international equivalent. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can allow you to convert existing relevant university-level knowledge, skills, and experience into credits for a qualification.
